Mario Kart Tour release date revealed: How to get iOS and Android Nintendo download

Mario Kart Tour is coming to iOS and Android next month, with Nintendo today revealing the release date and gameplay footage for the smartphone app.

Android and iOS users will be able to download Mario Kart Tour on September 25 from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Mario Kart Tour will boast courses that feature iconic real-life locations such as the Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty and Big Ben.

When it releases Mario Kart Tour will be free to download but the app will also offer in-app purchases.

As with other Nintendo smartphone games, a persistent internet connection will be required to play Mario Kart Tour.

So you’ll need access to Wi-Fi or a 3G, 4G or 5G connection to play Mario Kart Tour.

You will also need to have a Nintendo Account to play Mario Kart Tour.

The Nintendo YouTube account also today published the first ever gameplay trailer for Mario Mart Tour.

The footage shows Mario and co racing around brand new as well as some classic courses.

Nintendo has revealed that the courses on offer in Mario Kart Tour will rotate every two weeks.

And as with Super Mario Run, Mario Kart Tour can be controlled with just one finger.

Mario and friends go global in this new Mario Kart as they race around courses inspired by real-world cities in addition to classic Mario Kart courses!

These destinations will be featured in tours that rotate every two weeks! In addition to courses based on iconic locales, some of your favourite Mario Kart characters will get variations that incorporate the local flavour of cities featured in the game!

With just one finger, you can steer and drift with ease, sling devastating items as you go for the gold in cups filled with new and classic Mario Kart courses.

In Mario Kart Tour you have access to an arsenal of powerful items that can mix things up on the racetrack!

Turn up the heat by activating the new Frenzy mode, which gives an unlimited supply of a certain item and makes you invincible! Make the most of the ensuing chaos, as Frenzy mode only lasts a short time!
