Mariah Carey and Billie Eilish among stars to perform live from their own homes for coronavirus charity concert

Elton John will host an all-star charity concert on Sunday night (29 March) to raise money for those impacted by coronavirus.

The event, titled Fox Presents the iHeart Living Room Concert for America, will feature performances by Mariah Carey, Billie Eilish, Alicia Keys, Backstreet Boys, Billie Joe Armstrong, Tim McGraw and others yet to be announced.

Each artist will perform from their own home and will be filmed with their personal video and audio equipment.

The hour-long concert will “pay tribute to the front line health professionals, first responders and local heroes who are putting their lives in harm’s way to help their neighbours and fight the spread of the virus”, according to Fox.

It will encourage its viewers to support the charitable organisations Feeding America and First Responders Children’s Foundation and will replace the iHeartRadio Music Awards that were previously due to air at 9pm Eastern Time.

Musicians have been quick to move online as US states have issued stay-at-home orders, with free performances filmed at home and streamed on social media from the likes of John Legend, Christine and the Queens and Coldplay’s Chris Martin.

Since the outbreak, many performers have cancelled live concerts and tours. Find the full list of events affected here.
