Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn gets glow up on Suicide Squad 2 set with Idris Elba and John Cena

Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn was all bold outfits and pink hair in Birds Of Prey, but it seems everyone’s favourite villainess gets a bit of a glow up in the sequel.

The Australian actress was spotted filming scenes for Suicide Squad 2 in Panama City and looking unrecognisable in a scarlet gown and blonde chignon.

Gone were the pigtails, harlequin-print jumpsuit and heart tattoo (such a look).

In Margot’s third film playing Harley, the comic book queen gets a serious makeover and we’re digging it.

It seemed the 29-year-old was too, looking all regal as she descended the steps of the Central Hotel with director James Gunn.

Why was Harley looking so fire (can you call a comic book character fire? We just did)?

We’re going to take a wild guess and assume the troublemaker was crashing some kind of gala – with the help of newbies Idris Elba and John Cena of course, who were also spotted on set.

Luther star Idris – who recently teased us with a selfie from Panama – is taking on a new character rather than the role of Deadshot, which was played by Will Smith in the first film.

John will also be joining the DC extended universe in an undisclosed character and we can’t handle all this secrecy.

The action star arrived on set with the script in his hand (someone didn’t learn their lines – slacker) looking like he was having a ball.

The WWE hunk did previously say he was absolutely ‘blown away’ by the long-awaited film’s script so no wonder he’s loving life.

He was later seen outside the hotel wearing a harness, looking like he was getting ready for a stunt in front of a crane-mounted camera.

While the Hollywood stars filmed, a military truck flanked by soldiers was seen waiting outside just in case an overzealous fan had any thoughts about barging onto the set.

There was no sign of the rest of the cast, which includes a bunch of nobodies like Peter Capaldi, Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang) and Joel Kinnaman (Rock Flag).

Filming on the superhero sequel kicked off in Atlanta, Georgia, back in September.

We’re sorry to disappoint, DC fans, but you’ll have to wait till next summer for Suicide Squad 2 – the film hits screens August 6, 2021.

And until then? Yes, we will tease you relentlessly with photos of them filming.

You’re welcome.
