Margot Robbie shares tattoo 'mishap' that caused her to stop giving tattoos

Margot Robbie stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday to promote her new film Birds of Prey and, while there, the actress also shared why she’s no longer allowed to give people tattoos.

“I’ve hung up the tattoo gun now. I don’t do it anymore. I had a few mishaps,” admitted Robbie, who added that she had “a particularly bad one” during her friend’s bachelorette party.

Robbie, who is not trained to professionally give tattoos, shared that she originally bought her tattoo gun off eBay and, although she warns people she’s not good at drawing and is not qualified, people still ask.

Robbie explained that, during the bachelorette party, “a lot of drinking” led to some of the ladies deciding to get matching tattoos.

“I tattooed it and then when I showed her afterwards, she was like ‘Oh, I didn’t know that’s what I was getting,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, god.’ I was like, ‘What did you think you were getting?’ She was like, ‘It doesn’t matter, like, I like it either way,’ and I was lucky she was cool about it,” explained Robbie.

However, while her friend may have been cool about it, her friend’s mother was not.

“The next day at the wedding, when she walked down the aisle, as one of the maids of honour in a backless dress, and this, like, red, raw, scabbing tattoo, and her mom was filthy with me,” said Robbie.

“She was so angry, and I thought I really shouldn’t do this anymore.”

While filming Suicide Squad back in August of 2015, the actors gave each other commemorative “SKWAD” tattoos. The film’s director, David Ayer, posted this photo of Robbie, in full Harley Quinn costume, going to work on his arm:

Actor Jai Courtney posted Robbie’s work on his Instagram:

However, the following year, the actress revealed she accidentally misspelled one of the first “SKWAD” tattoos and, apparently, that mishap wasn’t her last.

However, according to Robbie, her last mishap was the mishap to end all mishaps.
