Margot Robbie read out Brad Pitt's BAFTAs acceptance speech and it was full of jokes about Brexit, Megxit and being single

Tonight, the world’s most talented actors descended on the red carpet in our hometown of London for the star-studded BAFTAs at the Royal Albert Hall.

Playing host to the star-studded occasion this evening, the Royal Albert Hall is currently welcoming some of the world’s biggest names in acting as it celebrates an incredible year of film.

From Margot Robbie to Al Pacino, the great and good of Hollywood were in town for the biggest night in British film. Sadly for us, easy-on-the-eye Brad Pitt couldn’t make it due to ‘family commitments’.

The actor scooped Best Supporting Actor for his role as stuntman Cliff Booth in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and despite not physically being in London to collect his award, he called in a favour from a friend.

Brad asked his Once Upon A Time In Hollywood co-star, Margot Robbie, to accept his BAFTA and read out the speech he prepared, which was packed with jokes about Brexit, Megxit, and his newly-single status.

“Hey Britain, heard you just became single, welcome to the club. Hope you get the best of the divorce settlement,” read the lol-a-minute speech.

Margot continued Brad’s speech to raucous laughter from the audience: “He says he is going to name this Harry because he is really excited about bringing it back to the States with him. His words not mine”, said Margot… as the camera panned to Kate and William. Awks.

Ahead of the ceremony, The Sun’s Dan Wootton tweeted: “Good evening from the Bafta red carpet where sadly I’ve just heard Brad Pitt has pulled out of attending tonight. Assured he’s all good but has a “family obligation”. He’s the hot favourite to win for supporting actor.

Whilst we gutted we didn’t see Brad Pitt at the event, we’re glad he was there in (hilarious) spirit.
