Marcus Rashford explains reason behind fine goalscoring form for Man Utd and England

Marcus Rashford revealed the reason behind his stunning goalscoring form goes down to the consistent run of games he got to raise his confidence.

Rashford has netted nine goals in his last 10 games for Manchester United and England, and also hit the target in all of his last four fixtures for club and country.

The United star is back at his best following a rough start to the season that saw him scoring only once in his previous 10 outings for the Red Devils and the Three Lions.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has maintained faith in the striker as he has started in all 12 of his team’s Premier Leagues games so far this season.

Solskjaer’s trust, combined with Gareth Southgate’s faith, has raised the 22-year-old’s confidence and that led to a vast improvement to his performances on the pitch.

Rashford said after scoring against Kosovo on Sunday: “It has been a tough period and now I’m getting consistent games and playing week in, week out.

“As a forward that has huge importance.

“If you are not in the team and you’re in and out, you don’t quite have that confidence in front of goal.

“But when you’re having a run in the team it’s important to come up with the goods and once you start doing that it becomes second nature.”

United legend Roy Keane was very impressed with Rashford’s performance against Kosovo.

Keane thought he scored the best goal of the night at the Prishtina City Stadium and believes he is “back to his best”.

The former United captain said: “Brilliant, brilliant goal. What a finish.

“He is back to his best. Lovely play, nice and simple.

“Does it matter about the opposition?

“Of course it does, because they’re getting opportunities, but that was the goal of the night, lovely finish. Pure quality.”
