Man's 'unimaginative' McDonald's proposal slammed as many hope the woman says no

When it comes to proposals, everyone has different ideas of what they’d like – some people want rose petals and candles, others might prefer something a little more spontaneous.

No matter the gesture, the thought behind it is meant to be romantic.

But one guy has recently come under fire for his rather “unromantic” proposal involving a McDonald’s advert.

The unnamed man decided to pop the big question on a McDonald’s billboard advertising cheap drinks.

A photo of the bizarre proposal was snapped and shared on a proposal shaming group on Facebook by a woman named Ruby and people certainly did not hold back their thoughts.

People thought she should say no

Ruby captioned the post, saying: “Nothing like a grand gesture to REALLY show you’re ready for commitment, am I right?!”

The photo, taken in Queensbury, New York, shows how someone has written in green ink over the billboard ‘Courtney will you marry me’.

The words are very hard to read and are almost lost against the background of a Dr Pepper and McCafe iced coffee.

People were very unimpressed by the whole thing and many hoped that Courtney didn’t accept the proposal.

One person replied: “Dude didn’t even comprehend kindergarten art. It’s contrasting colors idiot. Hope Courtney nopes out of that mess.”

Another said: “Just no.”

A third commented: “The green color annoys me the most. If you are going to deface property at least don’t give us a migraine trying to read it!”

Someone else added: “I’m here to say no for all Courtneys everywhere.”

A different user wrote: “I am almost positive that whoever wrote this doesn’t know the difference between capital and lowercase letters.”
