Man's 'lady drawer' divides thousands as some think it's 'thoughtful' but others hate it

When it comes to social media, it seems not a day goes by without someone sparking a heated debate.

Yesterday, people couldn’t stop talking about a woman’s savage Love Island prank on her boyfriend, today the focus is on a man and his ‘lady drawer’.

Yes, over on Twitter a guy known as BassFather shared a photo of a drawer in his bathroom which he graciously keeps stocked with all sorts of products for women to use when they spend the night at his house.

This includes some essential items such as tampons and make-up wipes, as well as a few unexpected things like bottles of nail polish remover, a pregnancy test and even a sex toy.

A number of women weren’t convinced (stock photo)

Also in the drawer were hair scrunchies and a hair brush.

The user captioned the post, writing: “I feel like every guy needs a ‘lady drawer’ if you plan on having frequent guests.”

He later added that he hadn’t gone out and purchased all the stuff himself, instead it was full of items that had been left at his place. He just decided to put it all in one drawer.

His post quickly went viral, garnering over 21,000 likes and more than 2,900 retweets.

Some people described it as “cute” and “thoughtful”, however there were a number of women that were disgusted by the idea of using items that had once belonged to another.

“Oh, yes, please, I’d like to use the community dildo please,” joked one person.

Another said: “Ah yes the classic etiquette advice: make all your female friends, family, and hookups feel at home with (checks notes) two bottles of nail polish remover, an open pregnancy test and a used dildo.”

A third replied: “Women won’t like this lmao.”

And there were some men who also agreed it was a bad idea, adding that it was “better to have an empty drawer that you cleaned just for her. Let her fill it”.

The tweet then inspired a few ‘lady drawer’ memes, which saw women filling drawers with much more valuable items – such as mini tubs of sauce from McDonald’s, pasta, face masks and messages saying to get out of their house.

People also started making ‘fella drawers’ which contained some very amusing items.
