Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira slams two Liverpool players as arrogant

Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has picked out Liverpool stars Virgil van Dijk and James Milner as the two footballers he likes the least, labelling both men as arrogant.

The 24-year-old has had his best season to date in a Manchester United shirt, playing 39 games in all competitions, although he finds himself a long way from the first team since the arrival of Bruno Fernandes and the return from injury of the likes of Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay.

However, despite being a relatively small fish in the huge Old Trafford pond, Pereira has not been afraid to give his opinion on fellow Premier League players.

The Brazil international was asked by the Desimpedidos YouTube channel which players he would consider arrogant, and Pereira had two names in mind.

‘I don’t really like that guy, Milner,’ said Pereira.

‘And to tell you the truth, I don’t like that guy, the defender, Van Dijk. [He is] Marrento [cocky/arrogant], man. Even the way he plays is kind of arrogant.’

For some balance, Pereira was also asked who the most likeable footballers he has come across are, and plumped for two fellow Brazilians.

‘David Luiz and Willian are the most “good” guys,’ said the Man Utd man.

Pereira was handed a new contract at Old Trafford last year, with his current deal now running until 2023, although whether he will remain at the club until then is yet to be seen.

He has started 18 Premier League games this season, but none since the restart and a return to the starting line-up looks unlikely unless Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has an injury crisis on his hands.

The 24-year-old discussed his future in May, insisting he only had plans to stay at United, but has ambitious thoughts of where he could move to after Old Trafford.

‘For now, I only dream of playing here. But of course, as a player, you would always like to play for another big club,” Pereira told Globo Esporte.

‘I really like Barcelona and Real Madrid, they are top teams too. Bayern Munich. But at the moment I’m focused here at Manchester United. They provided everything for me since I was 16.

‘So, I’d play here my whole life until I won everything here, then I’d go to Santos. So from here to play for another team in England, I think it’s difficult. I don’t think I’d do it. Not in England.’
