Manchester United are keen to sign Christian Eriksen in a cut-price deal from Tottenham in the January transfer window, according to reports.

Eriksen is out of contract at the end of the season and was keen to make a move away from Spurs last summer.

A switch never materialised and Goal claim United are weighing up an approach for the Denmark international when the winter window opens.

United have been linked with Eriksen for the last year and considered a big-money move for the midfielder during the summer.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will not want to lose Eriksen for nothing when his deal expires next year and United believe they could do a bargain deal as a result.

Eriksen’s preferred move is thought to be a switch to Real Madrid, but the Spanish giants have so far failed to firm up their interest.

And the prospect of moving to Real is further complicated by the uncertain future of Zinedine Zidane.

Real Madrid are top of the La Liga table, but are yet to reach their usual high standards under Zidane.

Were United able to convince Tottenham to agree to a cut-down price, Eriksen could be a Red Devil come January.
