Manchester United target Erling Haaland has held talks with Borussia Dortmund this week, according to reports in Germany.

The 19-year-old has attracted interest from several top clubs in Europe following his excellent performances for Red Bull Salzburg this season.

United, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have all been monitoring the striker, who has scored 28 goals in 22 appearances for the Austrian club so far this term.

But according to Ruhr Nachrichten, Dortmund have now made a move to push ahead of the competition to sign Haaland.

The report claims that the Norway international and his entourage travelled to Dortmund on Wednesday to hold negotiations with the German club over a potential transfer.

Last week, German newspaper Bild reported that Haaland is available for just €20 million (£17m) due to a release clause in his contract.

United have been keeping a close eye on Haaland ahead of a potential move in the upcoming January transfer window and a scout representing the club were present to watch the striker in action against Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bolster his attacking options next month after United failed to sign a replacement for Romelu Lukaku in the summer.

Solskjaer already has a good rapport with Haaland having managed the striker at Molde.
