Victor Lindelof believes Mason Greenwood has proven himself as a lethal two-footed finisher this season and tipped the teenager for a ‘very bright future’ with Manchester United.

Greenwood, 17, has experienced a meteoric rise after breaking into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team back in March and has scored two goals in his last two appearances against Astana and Rochdale.

With Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial both serious doubts for Monday night’s clash with Arsenal, Greenwood could be set to start in attack for the Red Devils.

Lindelof will likely join Greenwood in United’s starting XI at Old Trafford and the Swede has no concerns about his young team-mate being thrown in at the deep end.

‘I have been here now for my third season so I have seen it before, I know his talent,’ the United defender told Sky Sports.

‘This season he has stepped up a bit more and he has shown his qualities, especially as a finisher. Left or right foot, I’m not even sure.

‘He’s a great player and a humble guy off the pitch as well.

‘If he can keep doing what he is doing, work hard, then he has a very bright future.’

Lindelof has played every minute in the Premier League alongside Harry Maguire and has hailed the impact of United’s £80million summer signing.

‘It feels good, Harry is a great player,’ Lindelof added.

‘We’ve only played six games together so the partnership needs games to become better and better.

‘We work hard and train every day together, we get to know each other more and more, that’s always a good thing in a partnership. Hopefully we can develop and become better.

‘He’s a great person off the pitch as well. It’s very easy to be around him and talk to him.

‘He shows that on the pitch too, he has that leadership and makes it easy for everyone else to lead from his example. That’s also what I am trying to do on the pitch.’
