Manchester United have shortlisted Leicester City’s on-loan midfielder Youri Tielemans as a potential signing this summer, according to reports.
Tielemans has impressed for Leicester since he joined on a temporary deal from Monaco in the January transfer window.
According to HLN, Leicester are in talks with Monaco about a permanent deal this summer and the Ligue 1 club are standing firm over their €45 million (£38.3m) valuation.
But the report also claims that United are keeping tabs on Tielemans’ progress but a move for the Belgium international is not a priority.
United are likely to be in the market for a new central midfielder this summer, especially if Ander Herrera leaves the club on a free transfer.
Earlier this week, reports claimed that Herrera has a pre-contract agreement with Paris Saint-Germain and will join the French champions in the summer.
Brendan Rodgers, meanwhile, admits he is keen for Leicester to complete a permanent deal for Tielemans.
‘He’s a top-class young talent,’ said the Leicester boss.
‘But I always have to respect he’s a Monaco player. I’m sure there will be discussions between the two of us.
‘He’s certainly a player who I would love to continue working with. He’s only going to get better.’
