Manchester United are demanding in excess of £80million for Inter Milan target Romelu Lukaku this summer.

The Belgian has been told he can leave Old Trafford as he’s not deemed a suitable fit for the brand of football that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to play at the Theatre of Dreams.

Lukaku signed for United in 2017 when the club beat Chelsea to his signature and the initial fee was a hefty £75m.

However, that’s since risen to around £90m due to achievable add-ons and United want to recoup as much of that as possible before allowing Lukaku to go.

The Belgian has 28 goals in 55 Premier League starts for United and is Belgium’s top goalscorer.

At the age of 26, United feel they’re well within their rights to demand around £80m for the striker and are confident of getting it.

Antonio Conte is set to take charge at the San Siro and he wants to make Lukaku his first signing at the club, having failed to land him twice before.

Lukaku reportedly agreed personal terms with Inter officials during a discreet trip to Italy earlier this month.

Solskjaer wants a more ‘mobile’ attacker once Lukaku leaves, though he considers Marcus Rashford to be his first choice centre forward.

United are targeting a right-back, centre-back, central midfielder, right-winger and a replacement for Lukaku should he leave this summer.

Any fee from the Belgian’s departure will be added to Solskjaer’s budget, which is believed to be around £200m.
