Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named a strong eleven against Wolves, but Manchester United fans were fuming about the absence of Diogo Dalot.

The young full-back did not even make United’s matchday squad, with veteran Red Devil Ashley Young getting the nod instead.

Solskjaer picked a youthful and attacking side, with Daniel James getting his first start, but Dalot did not make the cut.

There were notable absentees like Fred and Alexis Sanchez, but United fans were particularly annoyed to see Dalot excluded.

After seeing the squad news, United fans demanded answers…

Solskjaer made just one change to his starting eleven after United’s opening day win over Chelsea, drafting in goalscorer James into the team.

Andreas Pereira dropped to the bench as a result, but Solskjaer explained the 23-year-old had not lost his place.

‘He’s made an impact since day one in training and pre-season,’ Solskjaer said about James before the game.

‘Last week he came on and scored a goal. We’re going to chop and change at times.

‘Andreas played a good game last week, but today we feel Dan James is the right choice.’

‘Dan’s Dan, he’ll give us the X-factor of his pace,’ he continued.

‘His attributes off the ball will be important because he’s incredibly hard working. It’s a decision we made early on.’
