Manchester United are closing in on the £90million transfer of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic but a deal has been held up due to Lazio haggling over add-ons, reports in Italy claim.

The Serbia international has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford and is finally expected to secure a move to the Premier League this summer, with United paying £67.5m up front and £9m to be paid to his representatives.

However, it is the remaining £13.5m that is holding up any deal being struck, with the two parties currently unable to agree on the format of bonuses, according to Corriere dello Sport.

United want the bonuses to be difficult to achieve and have suggested options such as them winning the Champions League, however, the Serie A side would prefer a more straightforward approach along the lines of appearance-based add-ons.

A deal is expected to be concluded, with Milinkovic-Savic’s agent and former Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman in London for negotiations on Friday, and then Paul Pogba will likely be sold to either Real Madrid or Juventus.

The signing of the 24-year-old will be seen as a real coup for Manchester United’s transfer chiefs, with Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan and Real Madrid all thought to be pursuing a deal.

He is set to be their third summer signing following the arrivals of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James.
