Manchester United ace Jesse Lingard has been blasted by supporters after footage emerged of the midfielder fooling around in training behind Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s back.

The 27-year-old is now a senior figure in the United dressing room and captained the Red Devils for the first time in their Europa League clash against Astana earlier this season.

Lingard is now in his fifth season as a United regular but he’s come in for fierce criticism from supporters as he’s failed to score or assist in 20 league appearances for the Red Devils term.

The midfielder’s poor form saw him dropped from United’s matchday squad for Sunday’s 3-0 win against Watford in what was a clear message from Solskjaer that Lingard’s form was unacceptable.

However, that hasn’t appeared to dampen Lingard’s mood and he was seen mucking around in training today in somewhat bizarre scenes while Solskjaer was focusing on another area of the session.

It’s unclear what exactly Lingard was doing but his tomfoolery certainly hasn’t gone down well with United supporters, who have slammed the midfielder’s lack of professionalism.

Here’s some of the reaction…

United’s training session was to prepare for their second leg last-32 Europa League clash against Club Brugge on Thursday at Old Trafford.

Lingard is in line to feature after missing out entirely against Watford on the weekend but he failed to impress having started in Belgium last week.

Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu-Mensah both participated in training but are not yet ready to feature in a competitive fixture.
