Manchester United expect Bruno Fernandes and Sean Longstaff to follow Aaron Wan-Bissaka through the doors at Old Trafford, according to reports.

The Red Devils are set to make Crystal Palace’s Wan-Bissaka their second signing of the summer after the defender passed the second stage of his medical on Friday.

United agreed an initial £45million fee with Palace for Wan-Bissaka and the 21-year-old will sign a five-year contract at the Theatre of Dreams worth more than £80,000-a-week.

Welsh star Daniel James became Manchester United’s first summer signing earlier in the month but the Premier League club are still targeting several more deals to boost a struggling side.

The Evening Standard say United’s attentions will now turn to midfield reinforcements, with the club ‘confident’ of signing both Fernandes and Longstaff.

Portugal international Fernandes has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs this summer but Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham have all withdrawn from the race.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants two new midfielders at Old Trafford following the departures of Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera and also hopes to secure a deal for Longstaff.

English star Longstaff only made 11 appearances for Newcastle United last season but impressed United scouts before suffering a season-ending injury in March.

It is claimed the 21-year-old is keen to complete a move to Manchester United, with the Premier League giants ready to test Newcastle’s resolve with an official bid next week.

Solskjaer, who is preparing for his first full season in charge of the Red Devils, will also look to bring a third midfielder to the club if Paul Pogba departs.

The Man United board are determined to keep hold of the French World Cup winner but know Real Madrid are ready to launch a move after his revealing comments earlier in the month.

A top-class defender is another priority for Solskjaer and Manchester United continue to keep tabs on Harry Maguire, who Leicester City value at around £80m.
