Manchester City and Manchester United have told Leicester City they are willing to pay £65million to secure the signing of Harry Maguire, according to reports.
The Manchester clubs have been chasing Maguire since the transfer window opened, with United failing in a bid to sign the England international last summer.
Maguire impressed again for Leicester last season and is open to the prospect of joining a top six club.
But Sky Sports claim Maguire will not agitate for a move and Leicester will only entertain offers above the £75m mark.
Leicester want a world record fee for the centre-back, and have held talks with City and United for several weeks. The rivals have made the same offer to Leicester, telling the Foxes they will pay £65m for Maguire.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to bring in a quality centre-back, while Pep Guardiola wants to bolster the homegrown ranks at City.
Leicester paid £17m to sign Maguire in 2017 and would make a sensational profit on the 26-year-old were they to sell this summer.
United’s search for a new defender has been ongoing for a year and Maguire is Solskjaer’s first choice.
Solskjaer wants to fill his squad with young homegrown players in a bid to return to ethos of Sir Alex Ferguson.
United are prepared to back Solskjaer in the market, as are City with Guardiola.
Guardiola is finally closing in on a successor for Fernandinho, with Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri poised to join the club.
