A MAN whose todger was burnt off by an electric shock has had it rebuilt – 16 years after his accident.
The 25-year-old, known as Ramesh, underwent a gruelling eight-hour op where surgeons used tissue with blood vessels and nerves from his hand and arm so reconstruct his penis.

Ramesh, a government civil servant from India, is going to now have implants inserted into his penis so that he can have an erection.
And despite the odds, surgeons now believe that he’ll be able to enjoy full sexual function in time.
His implants will act like pumps, inflating the penis.
“Nothing less than a miracle”
The Times of India reports that he was bullied mercilessly at school for his disability, being called “kinnar” by other kids – meaning a man who identifies as a woman.
He was just nine when he was burnt from head to toe, having been shocked by a high powererd electric transmission line in his small village.
Ramesh (not his real name) said he was chronically depressed as a child because he couldn’t stand and pee like other boys.
Any time he tried, he’d be soaked in urine.
It was only when Ramesh eventually met with renowned plastic surgeon Dr Saumya Nayak that he was offered a glimpse of hope.
Dr Nayak performed a radial forearm free-flap phalloplasty at Luxor Hospital.
Same op as gender reassignment
That’s the same sort of operation used in transgender surgery.
He said: ‘We reconstructed his penis from tissues of his hand through microvascular penile reconstruction.
‘We took a flap of tissue from his forearm by tube in tube technique and reconstructed the penis.
‘Three blood vessels including one artery and two veins were joined so that sensation is restored.’
He’ll soon be back to 100% function
It’ll take 18 months for Ramesh to fully recover and before he can have the second part of his surgery.
In time, Dr Nayak says that his penis will be restored to “almost 100 per cent function”.
Not the first cis man to have the procedure
In 2018, Andrew Wardle, 44, made headlines when he received penis implants on the NHS, becoming known as the ‘bionic man’.

Andrew, of Stalybridge, Greater Manchester, was born without a penis due to a rare defect, and began having surgery in 2015.
Again, Andrew had a phalloplasty using skin, muscles and nerves from his left arm and right leg.
Two years later, he had the “erection pump” stage of the procedure which allowed him to have sex for the first time.
