Man Utd's 'promise' to Jadon Sancho – and where it leaves Bruno Fernandes

Jadon Sancho is Manchester United’s top target ahead of the summer transfer window.

But the Red Devils may find signing him difficult given they cannot ensure Champions League football next campaign, nor give the Borussia Dortmund forward any assurances that he will win a trophy in the next few seasons.

United will have to offer Sancho something else to convince him to snub a ready-made team and sign for the Old Trafford giants – who are currently in the process of rebuilding.

According to reports, though, the Red Devils may have a plan.

Instead of promising Sancho the chance to play at the highest level, United can promise to make him the focal point of their team and build the squad around him.

The Athletic is reporting that this is appealing to England international Sancho, suggesting this may be enough to convince the 20-year-old star to make the £120million switch.

Where this leaves Bruno Fernandes, though, is another issue entirely.

United have inadvertently been building their squad around Fernandes ever since he joined from Sporting Lisbon for £47million in the January transfer window.
