MANCHESTER UNITED could be priced out of signing Italy keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
With David De Gea‘s United contract running out next summer, AC Milan reportedly want up to £55million for their 20-year-old.
De Gea, 28, has regularly been linked with Real Madrid, while PSG have shown interest in both the Spaniard and Donnarumma.
But Italian outlet Tuttosport suggest Milan would demand at least £49m for Donnarumma, who already has 12 caps.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be unwilling to pay such a sum for a keeper when he is attempting a major revamp throughout his squad.
Solskjaer’s spending power was dented by missing out on a Champions League spot.
But it could be boosted dramatically if United sell Inter Milan target Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba, who is wanted by both Real and Juventus.
The unsettled 26-year-olds both had a turbulent season.
Lukaku failed to impress either Jose Mourinho or the Portuguese manager’s successor Solskjar.
And Pogba had a strained relationship with Mourinho, before initially thriving under Solskjaer, only to fade again.
But it is De Gea’s future that is pivotal to any interest in Donnarumma.
As things stand, Old Trafford chiefs are confident he will agree a new long-term contract.
SunSport reported last week that United are willing to offer the ex-Atletico ace a £350,000-a-week, five-year deal.
