Man Utd transfer round-up: Pau Torres swap, Eduardo Camavinga price tag

Manchester United had a summer recruit to thank for Sunday’s win at Edinson Cavani came off the bench to score the winner at Southampton.

Much was made of the Uruguyan’s arrival being so late in the transfer window.

United had missed out on several of their main targets, namely Jadon Sancho after they failed to reach an agreement in Borussia Dortmund.

Ousmane Dembele was also linked with a loan switch as they sought alternatives.

But the failure to capture the players they wanted led to suggestions they would try and rectify the situation as soon as they could.

It means once January comes around they could be in the market for some new faces.

Here are the latest transfer rumours surrounding the Red Devils.

Torres-Bailly swap

Villarreal’s Pau Torres is gaining more and more admirers with United among them.

The Spanish club are seeking £60m for the centre-back’s signature as his importance continues to grow.

United spent a world record on a defender when they signed Harry Maguire 18 months ago and may not be in the business of doing that sort of transfer again.

Therefore, according to TeamTalk, they are willing to include Bailly as part of the deal which could see the Ivorian head back to La Liga.

Edouardo Camavinga’s contract is winding down

Camavinga price tag announced

Eduardo Camavinga will be available from Rennes for £45m according to reports.

The Ligue 1 side have seen several of their players head for the Premier League following an impressive year last term.

And now the French star could follow suit after his value was declared, reports AS.

Camavinga is seen as a potential replacement for Paul Pogba who could yet depart Old Trafford.

The Rennes man has 18 months remaining on his current deal.

Herrera’s Cavani intel

Juan Mata has revealed that he spoke to Ander Herrera about Cavani before his arrival in Manchester.

The Uruguayan played with Herrera at PSG and offered his compatriot some information on the incoming striker.

“I think Edinson is going to go to your club,” Herrera told Mata as revealed by L’Equipe.

“You will see he’s a top guy, a top professional. And I know you will help him.”
