Man Utd transfer round-up as Bellingham focus emerges and Real Madrid eye Pogba

Despite reaching the Europa League final to give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a chance to lift his first silverware as manager, Manchester United are set to be active in this summer’s transfer window.

Edinson Cavani is edging closer to staying at Old Trafford, his injury issues means that a new striker could be on the Red Devils’ shopping list.

Recruits are also expected at the other end of the pitch, despite Solskjaer’s side conceding the third-lowest number of goals in the Premier League.

With a rebuild set to take place, departures could also be on the horizon for the fringe members of the squad.

Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest Manchester United transfer news…

United change focus to Bellingham

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with moves for Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho this summer, but another Borussia Dortmund player is emerging as a potential target.

It appears that player is Jude Bellingham, who has impressed in the Bundesliga this season since moving from Birmingham.

He scored in Dortmund’s Champions League quarter-final defeat to Manchester City and Christian Falk of BILD reports that United are now eyeing a move for the 17-year-old.

“At United at the moment, there is nothing at all on the Sancho interest. The English are now simply focussing on Bellingham instead,” Falk said.

Real Madrid eye Pogba move

The rumours linking Paul Pogba with a departure from Old Trafford continue to fly around, with Real Madrid now reportedly keen to sign the Frenchman.

Pogba’s contract expires in the summer of 2022, with United appearing to be ready to move him on in the upcoming transfer window if he does not sign a new deal.

That has alerted Madrid, with AS reporting that Pogba is an “old desire” of the La Liga giants, who remain keen to bring him to the Bernabeu.

While Los Blancos are contenting with serious financial issues, if he did leave this summer, Madrid would probably be able to agree a cheaper fee for him.

After another disappointing performance from Alex Telles on Thursday night, United could opt to sign a new left-back to compete with Luke Shaw.

One name who has emerged as a possible target is Alex Sandro of Juventus, who could be allowed to depart Turin this summer.

Tutto Juve now claim that the Serie A giants would be willing to accept an offer of £17.3million for the Brazilian, with both PSG and United linked with the 30-year-old.
