Man Utd transfer news: Lucas Moura lifts lid on SNUBBING Red Devils for Tottenham

And the Brazilian has revealed his reasons for opting against making the move to Old Trafford.

Moura was unhappy with the fact a switch to United would have only been a loan agreement.

That meant the winger linked up with Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham instead.

“There was a conversation with United but it was for a loan and I didn’t want a loan,” he told The Guardian.

“I thought that if I left PSG, I didn’t want to go back. When I came to Tottenham, and I saw the training ground and met the coach, I said that I wanted to come here.”

Moura has also opened up on watching his hat-trick back against Ajax in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

“When I saw the video and heard the commentator, it was impossible to keep my emotions in,” Lucas explained.

“I remembered the 6-1 Barcelona game and the struggles I have had in my life.

“It has been my dream to play in the Champions League final and to win one and now I have the opportunity. The dream is real – that’s why I became emotional.

“I can now say I know the two sides. The Barcelona game was the worst feeling of my football life. When I got home, I cried all night.

“I said that I never wanted to feel like that again and so I worked harder to have another feeling and against City and then Ajax it came.

“The Ajax game was the best feeling of my football life. Moments like Barcelona must motivate you.

“It is impossible to describe the feeling when my hat-trick goal went in but I believed until the last seconds that we could do something.

“The coach always says we have to be mentally strong and fight to the end.”

Moura will hope to star again as Tottenham take on Liverpool in the Champions League final tomorrow night (8pm).

The showpiece event takes place at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid.
