Man Utd transfer news: Adrien Rabiot receives offer to swap PSG for Old Trafford

Manchester United have, for a while now, been tipped to lure Rabiot away from PSG this summer.

The France international has endured a difficult season over at the Parc des Princes, falling out of favour with Thomas Tuchel and becoming embroiled in spats over the club’s hierarchy.

Manchester United are on the lookout for two midfielders this summer to replace Marouane Fellaini, who left for the Chinese Super League in January, and Ander Herrera.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to get as many new faces through the door as possible as he plots a revamp.

And Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo say that United have tabled a ‘high’ offer to the 24-year-old.

Real Betis are supposedly trying to land the midfielder as well.

But, with United ready to offer Rabiot lucrative transfer terms, he could end up at Old Trafford instead.

Given he will cost nothing, the France international is an attractive prospect to suitors.

Yet whether his troublesome reputation sees a blockbuster transfer fall through remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, back in May, Rabiot’s mother and agent launched a blistering attack on PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Veronique Rabiot said: “The president [Al-Khelaifi] has made a completely unfair decision and everybody knows that.

“By doing this, he has instilled a poison in his team, which has done its work over the past five months — Nasser has broken his own team up because he forgot about the human factor.

“When you make decisions in life, there are short, medium and long-term consequences. Failing to understand that when you are the president of a football club is to not know football, nor football players.

“Above all, it shows that you do not know men.”

As well as Rabiot, United appear close to signing Daniel James.

Fresh reports claim the Red Devils could announce the transfer of the Swansea star midway through June.

Matthijs de Ligt, who is also attracting interest from Barcelona, is another star on Solskjaer’s radar.

And so too are the likes of Declan Rice, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Bruno Fernandes.
