Man Utd tipped to finish bottom half if they lose to Tottenham and Man City

Manchester United could finish in the bottom half of the Premier League if they get beat off Tottenham and Manchester City in the next few days, according to former striker Louis Saha.

The Red Devils currently sit 10th in the table following a tricky start to the season which has brought only four wins from 14 matches.

United are only three points off fifth-place at present but are only six points above the drop in a tightly-bunched Premier League.

Two defeats before the end of the week at the hands of Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham and rivals City could see the end of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.

Could Ole Gunnar Solskjaer be in trouble with two defeats this week?

And Saha thinks the next few days could also have serious implications for United’s final league position come May.

“If Man United lose to both Tottenham and Man City, there is every possibility that they could finish in the bottom half of the table,” the Frenchman told Bwin.

“In the Premier League, you need to be consistent and keep going the extra mile; you need to draw games that you are set to lose and win games that you are drawing.

“This United team needs to start building momentum and a win against a big club can create that.

Manchester United could in trouble if they fail to win this week, claims Louis Saha

“If United take maximum points from the games this week, they have a chance to do something with their season but if they don’t get a win they will struggle for confidence which will make it harder for them improve throughout the season.”

But Saha thinks the Red Devils could struggle for the rest of the season, he also believes Solskjaer is the right manager for the job.

“Solskjaer is the man to take Man United forward, he has a big job to do and he needs time to make that happen,” he added.

“He needs more buy in from the players themselves, they need to be willing to run more kilometres than anyone else, make those tackles and interceptions, work hard for each other and then the results will come.

“That is the first part of the job. If the team can do that.

“They will start getting the results under Solskjaer and fortunes will start to change.”
