Man Utd team news: Predicted line-up vs Luton as Donny van de Beek start expected

Manchester United will take on Luton Town at Kenilworth Road in the Carabao Cup and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping to avoid a huge banana skin after already losing to Crystal Palace in their Premier League opener.

United will be looking to bounce back from their Premier League loss to Crystal Palace with a big win over Luton Town.

Solskjaer will be drilling into his team to not show any complacency are face an embarrassing Carabao Cup exit.

Palace ran out 3-1 winners at Old Trafford on Saturday after a double from Wilfried Zaha and one from Jordan Ayew.

It highlighted some huge problems in the squad with Solskjaer desperate for more transfers.

But at such an early stage of the season and a lack of match fitness, it remains to be seen whether Red Devils coach will change too much.

Luton Town are also no mugs and have started the campaign in terrific form.

The Hatters have won four out of four, including a 3-1 win over Norwich in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

And though United do not view the EFL trophy as an important one this year, anything other than a win will be lambasted.

Solskjaer has admitted that there could be rotation for his starting XI, and one player who deserves a chance is Dean Henderson.

The Englishman has returned after a successful loan spell at Sheffield United and signed a new contract.

After some high-profile errors from David de Gea, having a prospect such as Henderson breathing down his neck can only be good for the squad.

The very least the 23-year-old deserves is a run in the cup competitions.

Donny van de Beek looks set to make his full debut after coming on against Crystal Palace and grabbing a goal.

The likes of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes could be relegated to the bench, as well as Anthony Martial.

But Marcus Rashford could retain his place as Solskjaer looks to get his main man a goal as the season starts up again.

Solskjaer said: “We’ll make some changes, of course we will.

“For some, it’s the pre-season and, for some, they’ve only been here for a week now, for different reasons.

“Some of them need game-time, they do and we can see we’re lacking in sharpness.

“We just need to make the most of the training sessions and games we have.”

Predicted United line-up XI: Henderson; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Bailly, Williams; Fred, Matic, Van de Beek; Greenwood, Rashford, James.
