Man Utd team news: Predicted 4-2-3-1 line up vs Brighton – Solskjaer faces injury crisis

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is faced with a serious injury crisis ahead of the Red Devils’ clash with Brighton.

The Norwegian has seven players ruled out due to fitness problems while another two are doubtful and Ashley Young is suspended following an accumulation of yellow cards.

Scott McTominay was forced off with a knock during the 3-0 win ver Partizan Belgrade in midweek, while Victor Lindelof missed the Europa League tie due to a back issue.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Solskjaer said “Hopefully Scott [will be fit].

“Hopefully Victor as well, but I don’t know because he hasn’t trained this week. It’s his back.”

Harry Maguire also appeared to suffer an injury at Old Trafford in midweek but played on and should retain his starting berth.

Marcos Rojo is most likely to line up alongside the summer signing in central defence if Lindelof is not passed fit, while Brandon Williams could deputise at left-back with Luke Shaw injured.

Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Diogo Dalot are also sidelined so Aaron Wan-Bissaka will continue at right-back.

McTominay will hope to partner Fred in central midfield with Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic still injured but Andreas Pereira’s spot is under threat from Juan Mata.

Daniel James should return in place os Mason Greenwood, despite the teenager’s goal against Partizan in midweek.

And Anthony Martial will lead the line once again with Marcus Rashford most likely to occupy the left flank again.

As for Brighton, the Seagulls are without Jose Izquierdo, Bernardo and Adam Webster due to injury.
