Man Utd sweat on Marcus Rashford after striker is injured during Holland vs England

Marcus Rashford scored England’s opening goal of their UEFA Nations League semi-final against Holland, but was withdrawn at half-time due to injury.

The Manchester United striker pounced on an error by Matthijs de Ligt to win the Three Lions a penalty just after the half hour mark.

Rashford, starting at centre-forward in the absence of Harry Kane, coolly slotted home from 12 yards sending Jasper Cillessen the wrong way.

The forward almost had a second soon after but Denzel Dumfries got back to make a superb last-ditch challenge after Jadon Sancho had played in Rashford – who required treatment after going down.

He returned but was hobbling as a result, and soldiered on until the half-time interval.

Rashford was replaced by Kane at the break, after tests with physios, having struggled on until half-time.

More to follow.
