Ole’s confident

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is confident he is the right man to take the club forward despite a shaky start to the Premier League season.

United are 11th in the standings with eight points after six games but the Norwegian said he can get the 20-times champions to once again compete with holders Manchester City and leaders Liverpool.

“I’m not doubting myself. If I doubted myself, then I think the rest of the world would as well,” Solskjaer said.

“I think we should be in and around the places behind there. Chelsea are going through a similar period of rebuilding. There’s Arsenal, Tottenham, us, Leicester. There are loads of teams wanting those positions and that’s where we’ll be.”

AWB misses out…

Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been left out of the squad to face Arsenal in the Premier League later this evening, according to a report.

United host Arsenal in a clash that both sides need to win in order to keep up with their fellow top six rivals.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are looking to bounce back from their 2-0 loss at West Ham in their last outing, but the Norwegian will have to do it without £50million signing Wan-Bissaka.

Manchester Evening News say that a decision was made on Wan-Bissaka’s availability last Friday, but it isn’t known what his injury may be.

Wan-Bissaka appeared to be absent during United’s gathering at the Lowry Hotel earlier today.

Rice costs £100m

Manchester United will have to pay a staggering amount for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

Express Sport understands Manuel Pellegrini’s side value Rice, 20, at £100million.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was set to revive his interest in the England international in January, especially with Paul Pogba expected to make another bid to leave Old Trafford.

But the Hammers don’t want to sell Rice, who they see as their most prized asset, and are ready to try and price him out of any potential move.

Jadon Sancho boost

Manchester United have been given positive news in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho.

The England international was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer.

And Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc acknowledges his leading star will return home.

However, the German chief is not sure exactly when Sancho will return to the Premier League.

“No decision has been made,” Zorc told German outlet Kicker. “But you don’t have to be a prophet to know he won’t play here for another five years.”

Solskjaer confirms transfer plan

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that the club will be looking to sign a new striker in January.

The Red Devils have been left short in attack following the exit of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez; both to Inter Milan.

And Solskjaer has promised fans that the club will be looking to improve their attacking options during the next transfer window.

“Of course, when we let Alexis [Sanchez] and [Romelu] Lukaku go, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know it’s a forward we’re going to try to recruit next time,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports. “We’re looking for some creativity and goals, but they [potential signings] have to be the right one.”
