Wanted: Jonathan Ikone

Manchester United are interested in Lille star Jonathan Ikone.

That’s according to French publication Le Quotidien du Foot, who claim Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are closely following the France international.

Ikone, an attacking midfielder who can operate on either flank, was the subject of interest from Lyon in January but wouldn’t pay Lille’s £62million valuation.

The report claims Lille expect their talented 21-year-old to leave this summer with United, Everton and Sevilla all monitoring the situation.

Wanted: Victor Osimhen

Several European heavyweights are queuing up to sign Lille star Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen, 21, arrived from Belgian outfit Charleroi in July 2019 for a bargain £10million plus a further £2.5m in add-ons.

And he’s already proved an astute acquisition having scored 18 goals and provided six assists in 38 appearances for the Ligue 1 side – including two in the Champions League.

Now, French publication Le Quotidien du Foot claim he’s attracted interest from Premier League quartet Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham.

Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Roma and Napoli are also said to be interested in Osimhen, who is said to command a fee in the region of £90million.

Jadon Sancho shirt number

Manchester United are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho in the summer transfer window.

And Rio Ferdinand believes the England international would be a superb signing for the Red Devils.

The former United defender thinks Sancho will wear the No. 7 shirt at Old Trafford if Ed Woodward can get a deal over the line.

“He’s one of the best young kids in the world at the moment. He has been unbelievable, he’s a player of huge potential,” said Ferdinand on Sancho on an Instagram live chat.

Asked by a fan if Sancho will wear the number seven shirt, Ferdinand added: “He has to. If he wears the seven though he has to be there for 10 years.”

Harry Kane pursuit

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward would ‘relish’ the opportunity to sign Tottenham talisman Harry Kane.

That’s according to the Evening Standard, who claim the 13-time Premier League champions wouldn’t be deterred by the England captain’s astronomical price-tag.

It’s believed Kane, who is contracted to Spurs until June 2024, would cost upwards of £200million.

But the Evening Standard say United have the financial muscle to pull off the transfer with both Woodward and the Glazers prepared to back Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ‘heavily’ this summer.

The report says Woodward would ‘relish’ the chance to ‘lock horns’ with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

Ashley Young wants to stay

Ashley Young wants to extend his stay at Inter Milan.

The former Manchester United star arrived at the San Siro in January on an initial six-month contract but his future is uncertain given the global coronavirus pandemic.

“Of course I do. I love Italy, Milan, the warmth of the fans,” Young told Corriere Della Sera when asked if he’d like to stay for another season.

“I want to stay and win. I’m learning the language, the people are very passionate. When you talk, you actually scream.”

Saul Niguez latest

Manchester United supremo Ed Woodward is growing increasingly confident he can sign Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez, reports say.

But the Spain international won’t come cheap with the Red Devils facing having to pay an eye-watering £135million in order to bring the playmaker to Old Trafford.

The Daily Star say Woodward is convinced he’ll land his man when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season.

United are still expecting Paul Pogba to leave Old Trafford, with Real Madrid and Juventus both eyeing the 27-year-old and and Saul is seen within the club as the perfect player to replace the 2018 World Cup winner.
