Edinson Cavani decision

Edinson Cavani has informed Paris Saint-Germain that we wants to leave.

The Uruguayan striker, 33, is out of contract at the end of the campaign and will not extend his seven-year stay at the Parc des Princes – leaving him free to discuss personal terms with teams outside of France.

Boca Juniors are keen on striking a deal, as are fellow Argentina Superliga side Atletico.

However, if Cavani wishes to stay in Europe then the battle could heat up between Manchester United and Inter Milan, according to AS.

Rio wants them both

Rio Ferdinand wants Tottenham talisman Harry Kane and Borussia Dortmund teenager Jadon Sancho at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have been linked with the English superstars in recent months but Ferdinand isn’t entirely certain either will be completed.

“Would I take Harry Kane now? Of course you would,” Ferdinand said on Instagram Live. “This geezer scores goals but I don’t see Tottenham letting Harry Kane go. And with Jose Mourinho there, I don’t see Mourinho letting him go to Manchester United.

“I would take Jadon Sancho all day… whether we’ll get him, though. Great player, great potential, English, he’s brilliant.”

Paul Pogba staying?

Manchester United are confident of keeping Paul Pogba beyond the next transfer window.

The France international, 27, is frequently linked with a mega-money departure from Old Trafford with Juventus and Real Madrid the two most likely destinations.

The European heavyweights were expected to challenge for Pogba last summer but Ed Woodward’s £180million valuation proved too much.

Now, ESPN claim there are ‘significant doubts’ that either club could finance a £100m deal in addition to the player’s £300,000-a-week salary demands.

The replacement…

Napoli have identified their replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly.

Koulibaly, 28, has been heavily backed to leave Naples with Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Everton all linked with the Senegalese centre-back.

The defender is claimed to have requested to leave the Serie A giants with president Aurelio De Laurentiis awaiting offers in the region of £90million – marginally higher than United’s current £89m record transfer spent on Paul Pogba.

Italian publication Corriere dello Sport claim Napoli are prepared for life without Koulibaly and want to sign Marseille’s Croatian talent Duje Caleta-Car to replace him.

Caleta-Car, 23, has also been extensively monitored by United and Manchester City scouts this season.

Jadon Sancho negotiations

Manchester United have been speaking to Borussia Dortmund since the January transfer window shut in a bid to get a deal for £120million-rated Jadon Sancho over the line.

The Red Devils are at the front of the queue and Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano says Ed Woodward and co. are “confident” of wrapping up the deal.

But they have encountered a huge problem in that negotiations are stalling because of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.

“Manchester United have been in contact with Jadon Sancho’s agent for two months and are working on his contract,” Romano said during an Instagram Live video. “The coronavirus pandemic is making it hard to communicate with Borussia Dortmund. United are confident.”

Lautaro Martinez agreement

Lautaro Martinez has agreed a deal in principal to join Barcelona.

That’s according to the print edition of Italian newspaper Tuttosport, who claim the Argentine striker wants to partner Lionel Messi at the Nou Camp.

The Spanish champions will now need to negotiate terms with Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan.

The Serie A challengers have already rejected Barcelona’s opening offer of £65million plus Arturo Vidal and Nelson Semedo but a follow-up bid is expected soon.

Should the Catalan giants fail to reach an agreement with their counterparts, they could opt to trigger the 22-year-old’s £102million release clause.

Spanish newspaper AS claim Real Madrid, Manchester United and Manchester City are also interested.

Jadon Sancho problem

Liverpool are unlikely to sign Jadon Sancho this summer because they are struggling to navigate a serious roadblock in their pursuit of the Borussia Dortmund star.

The England international looks set to return to the Premier League this summer after nearly three years in Germany.

But the Evening Standard, the 20-year-old’s price tag is proving a real problem for the Reds.

Borussia Dortmund value their most-prized asset at around £120million and they are hopeful that a bidding war may commence at the end of the season.

The report claims that Liverpool would not be prepared to pay that kind of money for a player who would start on the bench, for now.
