Man Utd fans react to Arsene Wenger admitting it would be a "dream" to manage Red Devils

Manchester United fans aren’t convinced Arsene Wenger would be the right person to turn the Red Devils around after he admitted it would be a “dream” to manage the club.

The legendary Arsenal boss raised some eyebrows with his complimentary comments about the Old Trafford club, who he was at loggerheads with for the best part of his career managing in the English top flight.

Wenger also suggested Manchester United are closer to turning things around than many people think, and the Frenchman reckons just four new signings could make all the difference.

“Manchester United is a dream job for any manager,” Wenger told beIN Sports.

“At least, any manager with courage and confidence. Yes, they need – in my opinion – four first-team players. But around those players, I see a squad that is capable of challenging.

“They aren’t as far away as people think.

“The team have no pattern of play, no pattern of pressing. There is a team there, but it needs to be coached and developed. Like I said, four players and they can be challengers. For everything.

“Like I said, Manchester United is a dream job. For any coach. I have confidence, I have courage…and you’re right, I have ideas.”

Reacting to Wenger’s comments, one Man United fan said: “If Arsene Wenger becomes Man United’s next manager I will NEVER support them again… NEVER!!!”

Another added: “I’ve always loved Wenger but the last thing we need is a short-term fix, we either stick with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and see how it plays out (assuming board backs him), or move for Mauricio Pochettino in the summer.”

And a third concluded: “Wenger is a dinosaur. Irrelevant, outdated and long past his sell by date. If Man United even consider him they would be making yet another massive mistake.”
