Man Utd chief Woodward open to Pogba swap, Arsenal transfer decision, Chelsea, Liverpool

Erling Haaland told he was right to snub Man Utd

Manchester United transfer target Erling Haaland was right to pick Borussia Dortmund insists Liverpool hero Jamie Redknapp.

“Though Manchester United were linked, I believe Haaland made the right call in deciding to cut his teeth in the Bundesliga,” he said in his Daily Mail column.

Haaland has scored 40 goals in 30 games this season and he has continued his rich form in front of goals since securing his move to Dortmund in January.

Since joining the German club he has scored 12 goals in just eight appearances.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang warning sent

Graeme Souness says it is “imperative” Arsenal keep hold of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer.

“He is 30, he is at the top of the game and we knew he was a really good player coming here,” Souness said of Aubameyang on Sky Sports.

“He has taken it all in his stride and scored two different goals against Everton.

“The first one he had a real chance of being injured with a clash of heads but he didn’t pull out in any shape – a good header, he stuck it away.

“When he gets free you are thinking ‘He is going to put that away’. He didn’t get excited he just stroked the ball into the net.

“Can they hold onto him? It is imperative they hold onto him.”

Man Utd swap deal

Manchester United supremo Ed Woodward is reportedly open to landing Aaron Ramsey as a replacement for Paul Pogba.

The France international could leave for Juventus when the transfer window reopens this summer, four years after leaving Turin for a second crack at life at Old Trafford.

United now have a decision to make, with both Juventus and Real Madrid showing interest in their No 6.

And Tuttosport say Juventus are at the front of the race to sign Pogba, with the Serie A giants eager to bring the midfielder back to Italy.

The report says former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey could be included in a potential swap deal.

The Wales midfielder has struggled to get regular game time at Juventus since his move from north London.

Arsenal make Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang transfer decision

Arsenal fear they could lose Gabriel Martinelli if they miss out on the Champions League, with the Gunners also fighting to keep hold of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Daily Star claim Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are keeping tabs on Martinelli’s development with interest.

With both strikers tipped to leave the Emirates, it’s claimed Arsenal have decided they would rather cash in on Aubameyang than Martinelli.

The latter is considered a more important member of Mikel Arteta’s project at the Emirates.

Chelsea agreement

Chelsea have completed the signing of Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech on a five-year contract.

The Blues agreed a deal in principle to sign the Moroccan for £36.6million earlier this month.

Ziyech will see out the rest of the season at Ajax before making the move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

“I am delighted and proud to have signed for such a huge club as Chelsea,” Ziyech said after agreeing personal terms.

“I am looking forward to next season and hope we can achieve great things together.”

Ziyech is Frank Lampard’s first signing since taking over at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues failing to sign anyone in the January transfer window.
