He joins Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay on the injury table with the club hoping to secure a deal to land Bruno Fernandes after so far being frustrated in negotiations with Sporting Lisbon.
But the club may also turn their attention to Edinson Cavani, who has indicated to Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo that he wants to leave this month.
“We always said the same thing for Cavani,” Leonardo said after PSG’s win over Lorient. “We hoped that he would stay at the club. Today, he asked to leave. We are studying the situation.”
The Uruguay international is out of contract at the end of the season with United being linked with a potential move.
