Man Utd chief Ed Woodward in striker talks, Chelsea transfer swap, Arsenal, Liverpool news

Jack Grealish exit

Conor Hourihane thinks Manchester United target Jack Grealish “deserves” the speculation linking him with a mega-money move away from Aston Villa.

“Jack’s obviously hugely talented, he’s our talisman and he’s had a fantastic season,” Hourihane told Sky Sports. “He’s been linked with so many clubs, lots of top teams around Europe.

“It’s going to be a tough summer and a tough decision for Jack. Hopefully, first and foremost, he keeps us up – that is the most important thing for the football club.

“And then, whatever Jack decides to do, that’s up to him. He deserves everything he gets. For me, he should be in the England squad as well because he has something that nobody else does, in my opinion.”

Snub them, Timo

Timo Werner should remain at RB Leipzig and reject a move away, despite interest from Liverpool.

The Germany international’s team-mate Dani Olmo thinks Werner has been doing “pretty well” and doesn’t need to leave the club.

“He’s so fast and he has the killer instinct – he’s scored a lot this season. He’s a player that gives you a lot of opportunities in the way that he plays,” Olmo told Goal.

“I think the place that he fits best is Leipzig and the Bundesliga. He’s doing pretty well where he is.”

Mauro Icardi to Arsenal

Mauro Icardi’s wife provided a subtle hint that the striker could be on his way to Arsenal.

The Argentine striker has been on loan at Paris Saint-Germain this season, but it is unclear whether he will stay next season.

PSG want to extend his loan for a year instead of paying out the £63million it would take to trigger the permanent transfer clause in the loan agreement.

However, Inter Milan are reluctant to let him leave on loan again, and are believed to be exploring other options with Arsenal tipped to challenge for his signature.

And Nara gave a hint that a deal could actually be made as she posted an image on Instagram showing her son in an Arsenal shirt.

Jadon Sancho backed

Owen Hargreaves thinks Manchester United will have the money to sign £100million-rated Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils, along with Chelsea, have been tipped to launch an approach for the England international and Hargreaves doesn’t think a deal will be halted by the Coronavirus pandemic.

“I think Jadon is a special case,” Hargreaves said. “Whoever gets him, the fees are going to be significant but that is a player for potentially a decade. So he walks into any of our great teams, our Manchester City’s, our Liverpool’s, even a Barcelona or a Real Madrid if he fancies it. His level is that good.

“I think you’ll see fees come down for sure. It’s going to impact football teams as well but I think the big ones, the Bayern Munich’s and the Manchester United’s, they are still going to have money to do what they want to do.”

Lautaro Martinez latest

Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez will only consider a transfer to Barcelona this summer.

That’s according to Spanish website Mundo Deportivo, who claim other interested parties including Manchester United and Chelsea will miss out.

Martinez, 22, is considered to be Barcelona’s priority target in the upcoming transfer window and is viewed as a long-term successor to Luis Suarez.

Negotiations between the two parties are supposedly ‘in full swing’ but no agreement has been struck for the forward, who either wants to join compatriot Lionel Messi at the Nou Camp or remain at the San Siro.

Inter Milan want RB Leipzig star Timo Werner to replace him but Mundo Deportivo claim the Germany international ‘loves’ the prospect of joining Liverpool.

Wanted: Alassane Plea

Manchester United are focused on signing Borussia Monchengladbach star Alassane Plea.

That’s according to Sky Germany via Shoot, who claim executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has made official contact with the player’s representatives.

Plea, 27, has scored 23 goals and provided 12 assists in 63 appearances for the Bundesliga side and his exploits have attracted attention from Barcelona, Arsenal and Tottenham.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side look to have made the first move for the once-capped France international, whose £53,000-a-week contract expires in June 2023.

Axel Disasi fight

Arsenal have unwanted company in their pursuit of Reims centre-back Axel Disasi.

Mikel Arteta is looking to bolster his defensive ranks and find a long-term partner for incoming recruit William Saliba.

Reims value their 22-year-old, who has made 52 appearances for the club, at £13million excluding bonuses.

But the Gunners face competition from north London rivals Tottenham and Southampton for Disasi, whose contract expires in June 2021.

Website GFFN believe Reims will get their asking-price for Disasi ‘in the coming weeks.’

Dominik Szoboszlai move

Liverpool have joined the race to Dominik Szoboszlai with several European clubs also interested in the RB Salzburg star.

Jurgen Klopp has already seen Szoboszlai in action when RB Salzburg took on Liverpool in the group stages of the Champion League this season.

According to Italian publication Tuttosport, via the Daily Mail, Liverpool have joined the race to sign the midfielder.

But the Reds face stiff competition, as Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, AC Milan and Lazio are all interested in the 19-year-old.
