Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals why Paul Pogba was benched against Tottenham

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted he will have to gradually bring Paul Pogba back into the starting line-up ahead of a congested fixture list. Pogba has missed most of the season with an ankle injury, starting just five Premier League games.

His last appearance came back in December where he suffered a setback in his recovery before undergoing surgery to correct the issue.

He was just getting back into contention before the season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But the enforced three-month break has helped Pogba fully recover from the injury, giving Solskjaer another option as they battle for a top four finish in the Premier League.

However, the United boss opted not to include Pogba in the starting line-up to face Tottenham to the surprise of some fans.
