Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is growing increasingly frustrated with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial’s poacher abilities, reports say.

The duo have led Manchester United’s attacking line so far this season and have scored two goals each.

After a blistering opening day thumping of Chelsea, United have picked up two draws and suffered a defeat to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer has put his faith in Martial and Rashford, but the Athletic claim the United boss has become ‘irritated’ by the pair.

Specifically, Solskjaer is frustrated with Martial and Rashford’s poacher abilities. Solskjaer made ‘scruffy’ goals his specificity at United, but feels Rashford and Martial are severely lacking in the department.

With teams inviting United to break them down, Solskjaer feels he needs more from his attacking duo.

Solskjaer has his forwards running near-post darting runs during training in an attempt to ensure Martial and Rashford will be in the box more often to tap home.

Since August 2016, Rashford has scored only six Premier League goals inside the six-year box. Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has 14 goals in the same period.

Solskjaer is still working to get his team in peak condition and backed his players to continue to develop after another frustrating draw at Southampton – a game Martial missed through injury.

‘The last three games, we deserved to win all three of them but that doesn’t give us any comfort on the table,’ he said.

‘But it does give us comfort that we’re doing the right things, we’re on the right track.

‘With the players we’ve got here now, and what’s happening on the training ground, preparation before the games, every single thing is spot on,’ he said.

‘So that’s it and we’ll get the results we deserve in the end.

‘[The players] can feel what they’re doing themselves, they can feel what they’re doing, they can feel [in] the last two games we’re a team that dominates games.

‘Wolverhampton, we’re a team that dominates games.

‘The Chelsea one, the first one is classic attacking football against a very good Chelsea side but the last three, we need to learn to win games like this and the boys want to learn how to win these games.

‘I would have been really worried if we conceded chance after chance after chance.

‘Palace had two last week, scored two. Southampton had one, well there was one instance in 10 seconds where they created two chances, the corner and the next cross.

‘Those were the two chances we conceded.

‘I would be very concerned if we kept on conceding chances and I can’t do much about the quality of the other teams because they’ve finished them off well.’
