Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer forces Robbie Savage to call HIMSELF an IDIOT

Manchester United appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Jose Mourinho’s successor on an interim basis back in December.

And Savage was critical of the appointment, saying: “I think for Manchester United now to be appointing an interim manager is a shambles.

“It is. Let’s get it right.

“Manchester United appointing an interim manager, somebody who could still be in a job at Molde, I don’t think the season starts until March, five wins from 30 at Cardiff.

“Yes, he might have scored the winning goal in the Champions League final, but is this where, really, Manchester United are at.

“Has he got the respect of the players?”

But Savage has now sensationally performed a u-turn in the wake of United’s dramatic Champions League win over PSG.

Despite a Romelu Lukaku brace, the Red Devils were facing elimination on Wednesday due to a Juan Bernat strike.

But Marcus Rashford scored in the closing stages to spark scenes of utter joy among all United personnel.

And Savage has now conceded he got it wrong.

“Interim manager? Shambles I was saying,” Savage said.

“What is going on? What an idiot I am. Give Ole the job now!

“How can you not give it to him now? I’ve said ‘wait until the end of the season and see where they are in the league’.

“WHAT AM I TALKING ABOUT? Give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the job now.

“The players love him, the crowd love him, his staff love him, I Love him, it’s been incredible.

“They’ve beaten Arsenal, Chelsea, PSG over two legs, Spurs away. They should get in the top four.

“I don’t care if they don’t, I don’t care if they go out in the next round.

“You have to give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the job. They finished the game with four youth players on the park.

“Manchester United – it’s in his DNA. They have to give him the job now.”
