Bernardo Silva’s superb season for Manchester City has unsurprisingly alerted the attention of other European giants, most notably, Barcelona.

The Portuguese midfielder arrived at the Etihad in the summer of 2017 and has already racked up 100 appearances for the club in all competitions.

The 24-year-old has scored 13 goals this season and has been described as ‘undroppable’ by manager Pep Guardiola.

Having been voted into the PFA Team of the Season, Silva has now attracted interest from Barcelona, although he is keen to avoid discussion about his future.

‘I do not think about it,’ Silva told Portuguese publication Record.

‘I just renewed my contract with Manchester City, and after this season I have another three years of contract. I am very happy in Manchester.’

The playmaker was reported to cost City around £43.5m when they signed him from Monaco in 2017, so he would warrant an enormous fee in the current market.

Silva has already won the Premier League and two EFL Cups with City and could add another Premier League title and an FA Cup to his collection this season.

However, he remains without a Champions League winner’s medal after City’s heartbreaking defeat to Tottenham in the quarter-finals, which the Portuguese remains downbeat about.

‘It was a great disappointment,’ he continued. ‘We left the quarter-finals of the Champions League against a team we knew very well.

‘In the second leg we had a few moments on and off the tie with the VAR issue.

‘We have to finish the season in the best way and win the titles that are missing. In the next season we will try again to win the Champions League.’

City have three games remaining this season, home to Leicester and away to Brighton in the Premier League before facing Watford in the FA Cup final.

Guardiola’s side know that two league victories will confirm another Premier League title.
