Manchester City recovered from an early Glenn Murray goal to outclass Brighton 4-1 at the Amex Stadium and clinch back-to-back Premier League titles.
Sergio Aguero equalised after just 83 seconds for Pep Guardiola’s side – with Liverpool having already taken the lead against Wolves at Anfield – before Aymeric Laporte headed City back into the lead to retake their position at the top of the table.
There were some lingering nerves as City failed to find a cushion, before Riyad Mahrez jinked into space on the edge of the box and sliced a shot off his weaker foot into the top corner after 63 minutes.
Ilkay Gundogan then sealed victory in the 72nd minute with a brilliant free-kick to confirm City remain as Premier League champions, edging Liverpool by a single point.
