Man City star Sergio Aguero involved in car crash before training this morning

Sergio Aguero was involved in a car crash before Manchester City training this morning.

The Argentine was heading to the Etihad Campus when his £80,000 Range Rover was involved in the accident which saw significant damage to the front offside wheel.

City sources have confirmed the striker escaped unscathed. He then took part in training without the need of medical attention.

Sky Sports News presenter David Garrido broke the news.

“We understand he is unhurt after being involved in a small car collision, we’ve been told that he’s had a bump this morning,” Garrido said.

“It’s been described as a minor prang, but has reported to the CFA – City Football Academy as well as the rest of the Manchester City squad and we understand he didn’t need to be checked by medical team.”

It is not the first time Aguero has been involved in car crash.

In 2017 the forward fractured his ribs during an accident in Amsterdam.

Back then, Man City manager Pep Guardiola reminded his player of the responsibility he had to his family.

“I only knew this morning when I woke up [of the accident],” Guardiola said two years ago.

“I don’t want to know what my players do. If they are fathers [Aguero is], they have a full responsibility on their shoulders on and off the pitch. They know what they have to do.

“I have a private life, a family. There are rules and ways to live between each other and that’s all.”

Guardiola will definitely be glad the most recent incident is not as serious.

Especially as the 31-year-old was not called up to represent his country over the international break.

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni left Aguero at home as the attacker was struggling with a calf injury.

“Sergio Aguero is not here because he’s been carrying a problem and has not been training 100 per cent with his club. Surely both will be here next month,” Scaloni said.

Aguero is expected to be fit and available for City’s clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday.
