Very little to do until Southampton got going late, good save to tip decent shot from Boufal around his post.

A quick and powerful presence on the right, smart overlap and cross for City’s second.

Easy header for his goal, superb tackle to dispossess Long in impressive first half and combative throughout.

Garcia – 6

Calm presence and good positioning. replaced by John Stones in second half as City consolidated

Angelino – 6

Decent effort saved on 18 minutes, constant attacking threat down left, subbed with what looked like a tight hamstring.

B Silva – 7

A return to form after a rare flat patch in season, nice cross for opener and buzzing presence throughout.

Doyle – 7

Tenacious presence as defensive shield, lovely pass through lines in first half but could have got on the ball a touch more.

Foden – 6

Involved in build up to second goal, good effort throughout but not his best night in a blue shirt.

Mahrez – 6

Plenty of trickery on show but often lacked end product, decent shot in first half well blocked and laid on Walker for City’s second goal.

Aguero – 7

Lovely finish to flowing seven man move for second and opportunistic finish for third reacting quickest to deflection.

Jesus – 7

Unfamiliar role on left side but powerful runner and excellent in the air, better up the middle.
