Man City fans tease Man Utd over Jadon Sancho transfer as Pep Guardiola nears first deal

Manchester City fans have teased their Manchester United rivals for how much the club may spend on completing a deal for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho as the Blues are on the verge sealing their first transfer of the summer.

Dortmund have told United they must pay £100m to take former City youngster Sancho to Old Trafford.

The two clubs are negotiating the fee but it is unlikely the German side will budge from their valuation.

Meanwhile, City are close to completing a deal for Valencia winger Ferran Torres for an initial £21m – plus add-ons.

Pep Guardiola was able to strike a bargain for the 20-year-old as he had entered the last 12 months of his contract.

City fans have taunted their United rivals as they have a 20 per cent sell-on fee in Sancho’s contract.

“City have a 20% sell on fee so if Utd do sign Sancho they’ve just paid the transfer fee for Torres….THANKS,” one fan wrote.

Another added: “If United pay the asking price for Sancho we get 18-20 million from the deal which pretty means they have paid for the deal for Torres.”

A third user said: “If United do sign Sancho we get a percentage of the fee which means they indirectly funded this Ferran Torres deal.”

While a further City supporter commented: “Thanks for Ferran Torres @ManUtd.

“That doesn’t happen much in our world. You [have] success you are good, you [don’t have] success you are not good and you will be fired.

“Here it happens too, but at the same time I am supported by people, I know.

“They support me and the club is fantastic. I like to work here, it’s as simple as that.”
