Maleek Berry has defended Drake, amid claims he is a ‘culture vulture’ for UK talent.

It all kicked off when Wiley called the Too Good rapper out for bringing out a string of names during the UK leg of his Assassination Tour, including JHus and Krept & Konan.

Basically, Drizzy put on a damn show.

But, while Wiley didn’t appreciate his antics, Maleek is here for the 32-year-old’s input.

Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk, the Kontrol star laughed the drama off, telling us: ‘No, I don’t think Drake is a culture vulture.

‘Collaboration is what fuels growth. you know? Collaboration is what fuels industries to grow, and one genre is going to make another genre bigger. One genre is going to expose another genre to their audience.

‘It opens doors for everybody else.

‘Moments like that are exciting. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. We should be appreciating it.’

Maleek is gearing up to perform at the first ever The Ends festival this weekend, in Croydon’s Lloyd Park.

The 31-year-old will be getting on stage for the debut event alongside a string of huge names – including Ghetts, Nas and NSG.

And he’ll also be reuniting with pal Wizkid – who he collaborated with on his upcoming debut album.

Speaking about the release, he continued: ‘There’s definitely going to be some collaborations on there. The one I’ve already let the cat out of the bag about on Twitter is Wizkid, Wizkid is definitely going to be on there.

‘There’s going to be a lot more exciting collaborations, some American collaborations, a couple of UK guys as well.

‘I think it’s going to be that album that connects the words together, Africa, US and UK, everybody that loves our our style of music.’

He previously admitted Taylor Swift would be his dream duet, so we’ve still got our fingers crossed for that banger…

As well as locking himself in the studio for his own debut, he previously jetted out to Uganda to work on Kanye West’s album, Yandhi.

Y’know, the one that isn’t actually out yet…

Revealing what exactly they got up to, Maleek added: ‘I was in Uganda during that time, I was invited out there to work on some stuff, but I can’t say too much because, like everybody else, I don’t know what’s going on!

‘We don’t know where that album is, but that was an amazing experience.’

The Ends festival is taking place 31 May – 2 June, in Lloyd Park, Croydon. Visit LiveNation.co.uk for more information and tickets.
