Malaga and Tenerife among best value flight destinations for Brits next year – here’s when to go


START planning next year’s holiday, with new research revealing Malaga and Tenerife as the best value destinations for 2020.

The Spanish locations are where you will get the most for your money with cheap flights from just £20 return.

According to Skyscanner, flights to the destinations have both dropped by 44 per cent compared to last year.

Flights to Malaga are £158.70 on average, compared to £281.37, while a trip to Tenerife will cost you just £223.88 instead of £402.03.

Bargain flights can be found for even less depending on the dates you travel – flights in January are some of the cheapest to Malaga for just £20 per person for a return trip.

We’ve also rounded up some of the best seven-day holiday deals, with a week in Malaga from just £191 per person, with five-star hotel stays from £691 per person.

Flights to Tenerife are cheap next year, with prices in May around £30 per person.

Tenerife is also a great destination to go all-inclusive. We’ve found bargain holidays with breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks included from £325 per person for seven nights.

One of the best times to go is in February for the annual Tenerife Carnival, the second largest in the world (behind Rio Carnival).

Tenerife and Malaga are both great destinations for sun without a long-haul flight, hitting 30 degrees in August, while rarely going below 18 degrees in winter.

The Skyscanner study also revealed other destinations which have dropped in price ahead of next years holiday plans.

Other cheap locations include Jersey, with flights from £52 per person next summer, as well as Eindhoven in the Netherlands and Bratislava in Slovakia, all costing under £60 return.

Sam Ayles from Skyscanner explained: “When looking back over our data we found a number of cities which are seeing phenomenal price drops, with Bratislava leading the way with a staggering 71 per cent drop in average flight prices, that’s a saving of over £1,200 for a family of four.”

Split in Croatia and Wroclaw in Poland are also huge bargains, with the average flight dropping by 42 per cent for both destinations.
