Married At First Sight‘s Steve Burley exploded at Michael Goonan during Wednesday night’s dinner party.

And on Thursday, the 51-year-old barbershop owner told Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam & Browny that viewers didn’t see the half of it.

Steve said their clash actually stemmed from ‘disgusting’ comments Michael had made about larger women at the bucks party.

Viewers only saw a glimpse of the bucks night, where there was a minor argument about whether the grooms should kiss their wives on the lips or cheeks at the altar.

He said: “What really concerned me was that Michael said to the group, “Let’s face it, none of us wants to turn around and see a heavy chick walking towards us.”

‘That is why I was animated last night. It had nothing to do with kissing someone on the cheek. I just found it disturbing and disgusting that you would even say a comment like that [about larger women]. And that is it.’

Steve went on to say that Michael, a company director from Adelaide, ‘just loves stirring the pot’.

‘He’s just there, in my opinion, for the wrong reasons. He’s there to cause major drama,’ he added.

Steve also addressed claims he had told his ‘wife’, Mishel Karen, to ‘shut up’ at the dinner table.

He explained that he had spoken to Mishel earlier in the evening about confronting Michael about his bucks night comments, and they had agreed that he would lead the conversation.

‘At no time did I ever say to Mishel, “Shut up”. There was absolutely no way I did that, nor would I ever,’ he insisted.

But Steve did acknowledge that he was ‘disturbed’ when his wife didn’t side with him during the dinner party clash with Michael and Stacey.

Married At First Sight continues Sunday at 7pm on Channel Nine
