MAFS star Michael Goonan reveals how new girlfriend KC Osborne saved him from his old partying ways 

Married At First Sight co-stars KC Osborne and Michael Goonan finally confirmed their relationship on Monday – after weeks of rumours and speculation.

And Michael, 29, has praised his new girlfriend, 31, for changing him for the better since they began dating last month.

The TV groom, who was originally ‘married’ to Stacey Hampton, told 9Now that KC was there for him when he was in a ‘dark place’.

‘She’s been such a rock for me, and she was a light when I was in a dark place after the reunion,’ he said.

Michael admitted: ‘I went back to my party ways and was a bit of a naughty boy.’

However, he said when he reunited with KC and began pursuing a relationship with the brunette he dropped his bad habits.

The businessman said he was initially worried KC wouldn’t see him as ‘date-worthy’, and after their first kiss he was determined to ‘fight like hell to make her my girlfriend’.

In their first joint interview, the couple told New Idea they had been together for five weeks and had moved in together in Melbourne.  

They are planning to stay at the businessman’s home to continue self-isolating together for the duration of the coronavirus pandemic.

Their friendship began a week after filming the MAFS reunion three months ago. They shared phone calls and texts before agreeing to meet in Melbourne for a date.

Things gradually became romantic and by the time of the COVID-19 crisis the pair had become inseparable and decided to self-quarantine together.

KC, a professional dancer who spent 10 years living in Los Angeles, has even met Michael’s young son from a previous marriage.

‘It’s love,’ said Michael, who is the managing director of his family’s commercial ice business. ‘We have one hell of a journey ahead of us.’

Things are moving so fast, the couple have already discussed having children.

‘I think KC would be the best mum,’ said Michael. ‘[Our daughter will be] a little dancing pop star! We are excited to start the next chapter.’

The law graduate, 26, had been friends with KC during the experiment and was apparently blindsided when she discovered her romance with Michael.

The mother-of-two had been accused at the reunion dinner party of cheating with another groom, Mikey Pembroke, earlier in the season. Michael wasn’t able to move past the allegations – which Stacey strongly denied – and their relationship fell apart.
