MAFS' Ines Basic struggles to cope with the bushfire smoke in Sydney with Nicole Thorne

Married At First Sight star Ines Basic’s nightmare trip to Sydney went from bad to worse on Thursday, as she struggled to cope with the ongoing bushfire smoke.

After her flight home to Brisbane was cancelled, the 29-year-old revealed the thick smoke had flared up her allergies as she took in the sights at Sydney Harbour.

Ines landed in NSW for a party on Wednesday, before branding Potts Point the ‘most disgusting place in Australia’ and then likening her hotel to a ‘third world country’.

‘This is how bad the smoke in Sydney is! I look like I’m crying… my allergies,’ wrote Ines to Instagram, while sharing a snap of the barely visible Harbour Bridge.

The brunette was photographed in the haze on Thursday alongside Instagram model Nicole Thorne, who joined her for the whirlwind trip to Sydney.

Ines dressed casually as they explored Circular Quay, oozing laid-back style in a pair of slim jeans, a baggy sweater and pair of trendy Adidas sneakers.

Meanwhile, Nicole, who boasts 1.1 million followers on Instagram, wore a black long-sleeved mini dress, which she accessorised with a Prada bag.

Both of the women appeared fixated by their mobile phones as they strolled along one of the world’s most famous harbours.

After stopping for a beer and some fish and chips, Ines flashed a faint smile and waved to a photographer, with passersby appearing to recognise her.

Ines and Nicole came to Sydney to attend PrettyLittleThing’s star-studded Christmas party at Watsons Bay Hotel on Wednesday night, alongside Tammy Hembrow.

After checking into a hotel in Potts Point on Wednesday afternoon, she said: ‘I’m really concerned I’m going to get shot or stabbed here, I want to cry!’

A frightened-looking Ines then compared her suite to a ‘third world country’ and said she had been forced to change rooms because she has a phobia of the number 13.

Filming herself walking down the street, Ines began: ‘I’m pretty sure Potts Point is the most disgusting place in Australia.’

She continued: ‘The hotel looks like it’s a third world country condition, I’m not kidding. It’s so bad, I am scared how I’m going to fall asleep tonight.’

After entering her room, Ines continued: ‘Things are improving, I did get moved rooms as I have a fear of the number 13, and the last room had that number in it.’

Ines explained that her initial room number had ‘triggered’ her anxiety, but she was feeling much calmer because her new room was ‘better’ and had windows.

Sitting on a balcony, she later added: ‘Outside I’m coping, like okay. The rooms are just so small. I’m pretty sure the people at reception think I’m 110 per cent psychotic.’
